Check that you are entering your activation code in the correct format. It should be a sixteen-digit number, made up of digits and letters, and has the following format: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. Please enter the activation code including the dashes.

IMPORTANT: The barcode on the back of the package is not the activation code. It is used for product identification at retail. Additionally, the tag number is not the activation code. More on this topic here: Is the activation code the same as the smart tag number SMN?

I have a page in a different language

Our site is available in several languages—don’t forget to switch to your preferred language either directly in the header at www.scanmy.name/code or, if you’re already in the registration process, you can change the language by clicking on the flag icon in the upper right corner of the page (desktop) or by expanding the menu in the right corner of your phone during registration—the flags are at the end of the menu. You can change the language by clicking on your preferred flag.
If the website is not in your preferred language, please change it for your own benefit. Any subsequent mailing related to registration will then be sent in the chosen language.
If your phone or computer is set to automatically translate pages into a language other than your set language, your page may be automatically translated by Google Chrome, for example. However, these translations are machine-generated and often inaccurate, and we cannot influence them. Therefore, please manually switch the language to ensure the registration process makes sense to you.

What are the registration steps if I bought the package in retail?

  1. Open the package.
  2. Inside, you will find the activation code. Can’t find your activation code? Read the help: Where can I find the activation code?
  3. Go to https://dog.scanmy.name/code/.
  4. Enter your email and activation code.
  5. Go to the pet registration form and fill in all required information.
  6. Proceed through the pet registration form, and after clicking the “Continue” button, you will reach the email address confirmation page.
  7. Continue following the instructions until you reach the order summary and confirmation.

I don’t know my smart tag number

This tag contains a built-in NFC chip for quick identification. The NFC chip is readable by most smartphones.

Metal tag with QR code
You can find the number of your QR tag directly on the tag. You can obtain it in two ways:

  • Scan the QR code with your phone
  • Or write the tag number (which starts with the letters SMN-…) directly into your pet’s profile.
    Important: If you don’t have the tag in hand yet, skip this step—you can fill in the number later when you receive the tag.

Cannot upload photos

  • Check that your photo does not exceed the maximum size of 5120 kB (5.12 MB). You will receive an error message directly in the photo upload field if it exceeds this limit.
  • Are your photos in the correct format? The system accepts photos in JPEG or PNG format.
  • You can only upload three photos. If you are trying to upload more, the database will not accept them.

I cannot complete registration in the cart—error message “You did not pass the registration process”

If you see this message, it means that one of the registration steps was skipped.
This may have happened if, after entering the activation code, you clicked on the cart icon instead of continuing with the registration, leading you directly to the order summary.
The registration process cannot be skipped, as it plays an important role. If it is skipped, the system will not allow you to complete the registration. You will reach the cart at the very end of the order. If you skipped a step, please restart the process and follow these steps:

  1. Go to https://dog.scanmy.name/code/.
  2. Enter your email and activation code.
  3. Go to the pet registration form and fill in all required information.
  4. Proceed through the pet registration form, and after clicking the “Continue” button, you will reach the email address confirmation page.
  5. Continue following the instructions until you reach the order summary and confirmation.
